Learning Out Loud.

I'm currently at the halfway point of the taught element of my MA in Marketing and Digital Communications at Falmouth University, and it feels like the right moment to pause and share where I’m up to. The course has been everything I hoped for: rigorous, practical, and genuinely thought-provoking. Each module has pushed me well beyond my comfort zone whilst helping me connect theoretical frameworks with the real-world communications experience I've built over the years. That balance between academic rigour and practical application is exactly what I came for.
This term we’re looking at Global Media Planning, which is entirely new ground for me. Throughout my career, I've worked alongside agencies and communications teams, but I've never had to construct or justify a media strategy, never mind one that works across multiple global markets. That's precisely the challenge I'm facing now. As part of one of the assignments, I’m required to write a public-facing blog, exploring key issues in global media with clarity and purpose. Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing these blog posts here and on LinkedIn. I'm also planning to include some reflections on what it's actually like to study for a master's as a (very) mature student. If you're considering something similar, I hope these insights will help you make a well-informed decision about whether it's the right path for you. The workload is significant, and the intellectual demands are considerable, but the satisfaction of learning something new makes it very rewarding.
Constructive feedback is always welcome. Whether you're an expert in global media planning or simply curious about the subject, your perspectives will help me develop my thinking.
Thanks for reading, and much more to follow soon.
